PhD (Cand.), MBA, MSc, BSc
Author of Original Novel Research
Teacher and Lecturer
You’ve reached my personal website. I am a PhD candidate at Sobey’s School of Business at Saint Mary’s University. I am currently located in Dallas, TX .
I also hold an MBA from Saint Mary’s University, an MSc (Genetic Manipulation and Molecular Cell Biology) from The University of Sussex, and a BSc (Biotechnology) from Manipal University.
I am a published lead author in multiple research papers, including research with novel scientific findings. I am passionate about teaching and have taught classes at the university level. I am currently focusing on research in management (CSR) as part of my PhD.
I’ve selected a few of my favorite publications here:
This case report identifies a novel 19-base pair homozygous deletion in the LTBP4 gene in two siblings with autosomal recessive cutis laxa type 1C.
Using exome sequencing, the study expands the mutational spectrum of LTBP4-associated cutis laxa and underscores the value of genomic analysis in diagnosing rare connective tissue disorders.
This study demonstrates that multi-gene next-generation sequencing panels substantially improve diagnostic yield in patients with suspected neurological disorders.
The findings highlight the effectiveness of comprehensive genetic testing in identifying pathogenic variants across genetically heterogeneous conditions, supporting its routine clinical use.
Be sure to check out all of my published research on PubMed and ResesarchGate, or my current research on this website.
Some of the feedback I’ve received from my students from the courses I’ve taught over the past few years:
I’ve had the pleasure of acting as advisor/instructor on a consultant basis for a number of companies & organizations including Invitae, Saint Mary’s University, UnitedHealth Group, and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
Besides research, teaching, and consulting, I’m generally pretty boring guy…. joking (I hope)!
I’ve lived in 5 countries!
I grew up in Singapore , but I’ve also lived in: India
, the UK
, Canada
, and now the United States
. It sounds exciting but it does get exhausting moving around so much.
I once played rugby semi-profesionally
I may start talking about the good old rugby days, so watch out. I played semi-professionally in Singapore and loved it.
I have 2 Australian Shepherds
My wife and I have 2 Australian Shepherds. Their names are Dobby (yes like the elf from Harry Potter) and Rainbow. They are pretty tech-savy k9s and have their own instagram channel.
I speak a few languages
Moving around a lot means you pick up languages along the way. English was my first language, but I also fluently speak Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, some French, and a little bit of Mandarin and Malay, and I am currently learning Spanish. My wife tells me I use a lot of UK words, so if you hear me mention specs, dustbins, or plasters please bare with me.
My name can be difficult to live up to
My name, Aparajit (prounced “UH-PAR-UH-JIT”) is a sanskrit name that means “undefeated,” “unconquerable,” or “invincible”. No pressure! (P.S. you can also call me Appu).
I am currently on a mission to visit all US National Parks & Forests
1. Painted Desert & Pretrified Forest National Park
2. White Sands National Park
3. Big Bend National Park (Next!)
4. Kisatchie National Forest
5. Davy Crockett National Forest
6. Guadalupe Mountains National Park
I am pretty obsessed with Liverpool FC
I’ve been supporting Liverpool for decades. If you see me looking sad, they probably lost. Don’t worry though, they rarely lose (especially vs Man United and Chelsea).๐
Wow, you made it to the end. Impressive!
How can I help your organization?–please get in touch. Or, check out my research.
